Pune: Construction of a new eight-lane road with two tunnels and two viaducts was undertaken on the alternate road from Lonavala to Khopoli exit on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.   Current traffic state The Mumbai-Pune Expressway has been experiencing heavy traffic in the 19.8-km lane, which runs between Khopoli and Kusgaon most of the days and having worst situation in weekends, public holidays and rainy seasons. Great Relief: personally, believe that this missing link will not only reduce time of 25 minutes but also it will help in reducing traffic chaoes. The total length of this tunnel is nine kilometres, out of which, work worth seven kilometres has been completed. The width of this tunnel is 23.5 meters. Due to this Missing Link, the Pune-Mumbai distance will be reduced by six kilometres, saving 25 minutes .
